I love the idea of actively romanticizing your life.. It is so easy to get caught up in the anxieties of every day life. I remember when I was younger I went backpacking in northern California. I thought the landscape was BREATHtaking! The trees along the highways. The water. The hills. When I got back a month later, I was driving down a highway close to where I live and noticed (it seemed, for the first time) how beautiful the scene was around me, and how SIMILAR it was to the landscape from my trip to California. It looked almost identical, yet I had never actually *seen* it in that way. Ever since (and its been a decade) I try to actively notice the trees, the plants, the hills around me. I try to view them as if I were a traveller coming to this land for the first time. And then I remember how spectacularly beautiful this land really is. You just forget about it when you see it every day. So maybe the key is to be as conscious about it as we can -- to actively *seek* out the beauty that surrounds us - every day. :) Lovely video, and I honestly love that pumpkin painting so much!! It is so whimsical and nostalgic, I really love it. - Kristen
Frederike, I absolutely loved your video! The way you brought those adorable baby pumpkins to life is just enchanting. 🌟 Your perspective on romanticizing your artist life is so refreshing and inspires me to find beauty in the little things. Sending you love! 🍂✨
A well chosen topic ! Romanticizing daily life , I find you tackled it very well , I would love to explore it together how to bring this into daily life and struggles when the days gets darker and shorter . I am sure you are not alone feeling that summer slipt through your fingers , it felt as the shortest one ever and I really am not at all ready to go into Autumn yet so all ideas are welcome . Your zucchini 's and pumpkins reminded me of our first garden where we also planted these vegetables and after a while we had an invasion of mega pumpkins and giant zucchini's 😂 I always heard the tiny zucchini's have the best taste . Btw very beautiful shoots of your doggies in the video , so cute . Thanks for sharing 🍀
Where do I begin Frederike?! There was so much beauty and wonder in this video!! 😍 Running through the "marshmallow fields" looked so exhilarating and what a beautiful (dare I say romantic?) way to enjoy your coffee. ☕️💕 I love your artwork so much! The dressers are coming along beautifully (and I know that one day, painting hands will be more fluid for you). I love the colors of the dresser with the girl + dandelion. The absolutely magical pumpkin mushroom house!! Wow, it looks like it should be in a published fairytale book! ✨️🍄 Most of all I so appreciate your kind smile (and sharing your sunny rooftop moment with us) and your reflections on life. I completely agree with you that life Is hard and we shouldn't sugar coat it. But, I love the conclusions you came to about seeking and noticing the beautiful small details already present, rather than trying to make everything appear "better" than it is. This video was like a warm hug to my heart! Like spending time with a friend. Sending you and the sweet puppies so much love! 🐈⬛️💖
Lovely film Frederike for this time of year the shadows getting longer and the need for a sweater more often! What have we done with the summer indeed the spring before it? It’s easy to forget the achievements no matter how small they may be !sitting as you did on your rooftop thinking about the past year must of brought into focus these moments of joy & pain and are all part of life and acknowledging them is the best way of feeling them once again before they fade away as memories often do! Loved your water color 👌🏻🎃 by the way ! Best wishes to you all Simon 🤠👍
Thank you so much Simon, your comments are always such a comfort and inspiration! I'm grateful I'm not the only one wondering where spring and summer went haha hopefully we'll find more peace and the ability to ground ourselves more to experience a beautiful autumn. Sending you and yours all the best! Thank you for being here. - Frederike
I find a smell that makes me smile is romantic. And your tiny baby pumpkins are adorable. Are you going to paint faces on any of them? I'm loving your fresh unpresumptioned style. Just you being you. Frustrated, happy, confused, silly....very human. Happy Autumn
Oh I love the sound of that! A smell that makes you smile - that's beautiful and romantic indeed. You made me think about it and crisp autumn air and newly cut grass are smells like that to me. I hadn't thought of painting faces on the pumpkins but now you mention it it's actually a really fun idea! They all look different so they could be cute characters in a pumpkin family 🤗 Thank you for your kind words, they're truly encouraging and inspiring. It helps me to keep going and create the way that is true to myself. Happy Autumn to you too and thank you for stopping by!
